When shooting black & white photos, I usually pick Ilford HP5+ or FP4+ film. These are very traditional b&w films, and the best-known products made by British company “HARMAN technology”, which now owns the “Ilford Photo” brand.
To everyone’s surprise, Harman released an experimental color film (called “Harman Phoenix 200”) at the end of 2023 and I was excited to try it out. It does not have the typical orange mask of regular C-41 color film and so the negatives look quite different. I had no issues scanning it though with my Epson flatbed scanner. The film is said to have strong grain and high contrast and I certainly did see that.
Below are my 3 favorite images from the first roll of film I shot. I’m quite happy about how they turned out.
